Instructions
- Edit the two required pages (3-4) to the best of your abilities.
- After you're done with the two required pages, please pick two pages from
5-9 to edit.
- Remember to save everything as *.psd files. You will have to turn in the
*.psds along with the optimized images (*.png) when you're done with the test.
When you think everything is ready to turn in, please zip/rar your work
and upload them somewhere then provide the link when you submit your application. We
will get back to you about it within a week. If you don't get a response
within that amount of time, or if there are any problems, try contacting
immi through one of the other methods mentioned on our contact
page.
Some common regulations for all pages:
- Set all single pages to 800px wide. Spread pages are 1600px wide.
- Edit out *all* sound-effects (SFXs) and replace them with the translated version. Although we no longer edit SFXs, it is still an important editing skill to have.
- Since you get to choose the fonts, try to find a font similar to the
original Japanese text. The generic font (Wild Words) might not always be
the best choice. Choosing the right font is especially important for sound-effects.
- All text are aligned center.
- Center all text within the bubble.
- Save *.pngs using Ookla's
technique
- Use layers to avoid touching the original image in any way. This means that we should
be able to see what the original image looks like just by looking at the
background layer in your *.psd (check out immi's site for more details about that).
